Yard Power. Here is an original photo that I took in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 2 August 1960. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9394, an ES-12 switcher built by GM-EMD in May of 1950 and rated at 1,200 horsepower. In this context, the crew is "flat humping" a string of boxcars near the Yard Master's Office. Partially visible in the right background is the PRR's Samuel Rea Shop. |
