Description:
James Bowie caught this 1918 Alco-Pchenectady built Mikado sitting in a Chicago yard. Specs - class N-2, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 26x30" cylinders, engine wt of 292,000 lb, tractive effort of 54,779 lb. With the exception of 1930 (boiler explosion), all retired August 1949 to August 1950.
